Funny               sports               quotes               have               been               an               American               tradition               since               New               York               Yankees               star               Yogi               Berra               began               spouting               his               famous               twisted               phrases,               each               of               which               had               their               own               strange               logic.

               At               age               81,               Yogi               still               spouts               a               zinger               or               two.

He               recently               said,               "He               hits               from               both               side               of               the               plate.

He's               amphibious."
               Thankfully,               other               notable               sports               figures               have               also               managed               to               keep               Yogi's               legacy               alive.
               Joe               Theismann
               As               a               sports               announcer               on               ESPN,               former               football               great               Joe               Theismann               said,               "The               term               'genius'               is               inapplicable               to               anyone               in               this               game.

A               genius               is               Norman               Einstein."
               Theismann               later               claimed               to               Sports               Illustrated               that,               in               high               school,               he               did               have               a               smart               classmate               named               Norman               Einstein.
               George               Brett
               Baseball               Hall               of               Famer               George               Brett               once               said,               "If               a               tie               (in               baseball)               is               like               kissing               your               sister,               losing               is               like               kissing               your               grandmother               with               her               teeth               out."
               George               Foreman

Dean               died               in               1974,               but               his               quotes               live               on.

               Tug               McGraw
